2. Mike Stern, Play Mike Stern joined by John Scofield and Bill Frisell - wonderful tunes and you can tell they had fun!

3. John Scofield, Time On My Hands. John Scofield's discography is long - this is a favorite disc of mine.

4. Rick Peckham Left End. This is not for the faint of heart. It combines strong musicality with some flat out intensity - subtlety too.

5. Lily Afshar, Possession; Lily's sound and interpretation are beautiful. She is one of the great guitarists of our time.

6. Hank Mobley, Workout. Hank Mobley with Grant Green on guitar and the great Kelly/Chambers/Jones rhythm section. Teriffic energy.

7. Jim Hall, Bill Evans, Undercurrent; This is a classic recording by two masters. I hear new things every time I listen to it.

8. LA Guitar Quartet, Guitar Heroes; Unbelieveable ensamble playing by 4 virtuosi.

9. The Jane Miller Group, The Other Room; A composer and performer for many years, Jane plays great and always has something to say in her music.

10. Hopkinson Smith, Dowland: A Dream; Hopkinson Smith has been playing Dowland on the lute for more than 35 years. His love for this music is boundless and you hear it in his playing. These are exciting authentic performances that all pluckers and music lovers will enjoy.

11. Kurt Rosenwinkle, Deep Song. Strong and wonderful playing and writing by a great young musician.
