Instrument Packages
The instruments, amps and accessories in boxed guitar and bass packages sometimes leave much to be desired.
At The Minor Chord, we take a different approach. Our custom packages are assembled from instruments and amps that we can wholeheartedly recommend. In fact, they are the same instruments and amps we sell every day.
Our guitar packages include:

The accessories we include with our packages - cable, tuner, strap, and picks - are not cheap filler to make the package look complete. Those cheap accessories won't work well and will probably break way too soon. Instead, our accessories are the same high quality items we sell every day.
And, as you expect from The Minor Chord, we stand behind all our packages. We wouldn't sell them if they weren't the best quality and great value.
VOX Valvetronix Amps
All of our guitar packages are based on VOX amps. The VOX Mini-3 (left) is a fantastic practice amp with more effects and sounds than many performance amps. The Valvetronix VT20+ (center) and VT40+ (right) are great-sounding but affordable hybrid amps that add a 12AX7 tube to the power stage for that rich tube sound.
Squier Stratocaster Guitars
We offer two levels of Squier Stratocaster guitars in our packages. The entry-level Squire Strat (left)is the Affinity. If your budget allows, we recommend that you move up to the Squier Standard Strat (right). For a modest price difference (about $40), you get a noticeable step up in components and playability. Both models are available in an assortment of colors.
Ibanez Electric Guitars
We offer two levels of Ibanez electric guitars in our packages. The GART50 model (left)is our recommended starting point in the Ibanez line. The ART100 (right) is a step up with better-grade components and playability. Both models are available in an assortment of colors.
Electric Basses
The Squier Affinity Jazz Bass (left), based on the design of the famous Fender Jazz bass is a great bass for the beginning student. Two sets of passive pickups and controls offer good tone options. The Ibanez SR300 bass (right) is a step up with active pickups that can crank out a more contenporary sound. Many players appreciate the playability of the SR300's thinner, lighter body and neck. Both models are available in an assortment of colors.
Ibanez IBZ10B Bass Practice Amp
Our bass packages include the popular Ibanez IBZ10B bass practice amp. This is a 10 watt bass amp that has enough power to provide good solid sound during practice sessions or even small-venue rehearsals. Once you develop a style and figure out what kind of sound you're aiming for, you can move up to a larger performance amp.
