Acoustic Guitars

F325D

The F325D is Yamaha's most affordable full-size Dreadnaught guitar. It is constructed with laminated meranti back and sides and a laminated spruce top. This is a very rugged and durable instrument - a great choice for a beginner or for someone who may not pay close attention to environmental issues like temperature and humidity that can stress a solid-top guitar.

The F325D is available in the natural finish shown here or a Tobacco Sunburst finish, shown below.

F325D Tobacco Sunburst

And here is the same instrument in an attractive tobacco sunburst finish.

FG800

The FG800 is a great choice in a full-size guitar and one of our best selling models. It has a Dreadnaught-size body with nato back and sides and a solid spruce top. The solid top gives this guitar a richer, fuller sound compared to the F325D - and the sound will get still better as the wood ages and breaks in.

If you need a similar instrument but with a slightly smaller body, see the FS800 below.

FS800

The FS800 is our best-selling guitar in the entire store, and for good reason! For a player looking for an instrument a bit smaller than a Dreadnaught, this is the perfect combination of size, sound and price.

The neck is standard length and profile but the body shape is trimmed down a bit compared to a Dreadnaught, making the FS800 a good choice for the younger player or the adult who prefers an instrument with a bit less bulk.

Like the FG800, and unlike cheap beginner guitars, this has a solid Sitka spruce top with a natural finish and laminated nato back and sides giving it a clear, resonant tone.

FG820L

The FG820L is a good choice for the left-handed player looking for a mid-priced instrument.

It is built to the same Dreadnaught body dimensions as the FG800 above, and like the FG800 it boasts a solid Sitka spruce top. Then it is further upgraded with genuine mahogany back and sides and cream-colored binding on the body and neck.

FG820S-12

If you're looking for a moderately-priced 12-string acoustic, the FG820S-12 is an updated version of the previously great-selling Yamaha FG720S-12. It will give you that bell-like sound that 12-strings are famous for. It has a solid spruce top, laminated mahogany back and sides, and a 1-7/8 inch nut.

Where this model stands out is its easy-playing action. Compared to other 12-strings in its price range, we feel that the FG820S-12 is a clear winner.

LL6M

The Yamaha L-Series is a step above their FG and FS series guitars with higher-grade materials and more personal attention involved in the building process.

We stock two guitars in the L series: the LL6M and LS6M. Both models have mahogany backs and sides with cream binding, solid Engelmann spruce tops for better bass clarity, ebony bridges, ebony fingerboards for smooth playability, and gold-tone die-cast tuning machines.

If you are looking for smooth playability and a big sound but want to keep the price tag under $500, the Yamaha L-series are the instruments for you.

The LL6M, pictured here, is the Dreadnaught size member of the family. The LS6M, shown below, is the slightly smaller 'concert' size instrument.

LS6M

See the LL6M above for a detailed description of the Yamaha L-series.

The LS6M, pictured here, is our smaller-bodied L-series instrument.

FG Junior

We call this the "perfect first guitar", a 1/2 size steel string instrument that works well for a younger student or petite teen. We also recommend the FG Junior for adults looking for a reliable travel guitar.

The FG Junior is no toy. Constructed of laminated meranti and spruce, this is a durable instrument that can take some abuse from less-than-careful youngsters. But at the same time, it is an instrument with good tone and a satisfying playability.

We set up each FG Junior just as we do our full-sized guitars, ensuring optimum playability.

Many 1/2-size guitars out there are more like toys. The FG Junior, by contrast, is a solid instrument that won't disappoint.

Steel-String Acoustic-electrics

APX-T2

The APX-T2 is the perfect fractional-size guitar for the junior player who is looking for their first acoustic-electric guitar.

Like the FG Junior, the APX-T2 is no toy. It plays respectably as an acoustic and is suitable for students taking guitar lessons. But plug it in to an amp and the APX-T2 is ready for the stage!

The built-in tuner is a nice extra feature, too, saving you the extra $25 cost of a standlone digital tuner.

We stock the APX-T2 in a classy red sunburst finish.

FGX800C

The FGX800C is our most affordable Dreadnaught-sized solid top Yamaha acoustic/electric. Based on the acoustic FG800, it features a nato back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, and rosewood bridge and fingerboard. The cutaway Dreadnaught-size body is equipped with a System 55T pickup with built-in tuner.

This guitar is a great choice for the aspiring performer.

FSX800C

This is the electrified version of our best-selling small-body acoustic, the FS800. It is a small-bodied acoustic/electric with a cutaway, nato back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, and rosewood bridge and fingerboard.

The guitar is equipped with a System 55T pickup system with a built-in tuner.

We stock the FSX800C in the natural Sitka spruce (shown to the right) and FSX800C in Ruby Red(shown below).

FSX800C 'RR'

This is the same guitar as above but in a cool Ruby Red color.

A1M

The Yamaha A1M is designed from the ground up as a performance guitar. Dreadnaught size body with a cutaway for easy access to the higher frets, solid Sitka spruce top, and mahogany back and sides for a warm tone.

Scalloped bracing in the body yields a louder, richer acoustic tone.

Plugged in, the SRT piezo electronics give you everything you need for onstage performance.

Nylon String Guitars

C40

The C40 is a durable full-size classical guitar. It has a meranti back and sides, a spruce top, and a 2-inch nut.

This is our most affordable full-size nylon string guitar.

CG-122MCH

The Yamaha CG122MCH is our most affordable solid-top classical-style guitar. The solid American red cedar top delivers a warm classical tone.

CG-172SF

The Yamaha CG172SF is a Flamenco-style nylon string instrument with a solid European spruce top and cypress back and sides.

Designed for the energetic Flamenco playing style, it has upper and lower scratch guards and is capable of producing a strong, percussive tone.

Fractional-size Classical Guitars

We offer Yamaha nylon-string classical guitars in a series of fractional sizes.

The CS-40 is imilar to the C40 above but 7/8 scale with a 1-7/8 inch nut. This size is perfect for someone like the teen player who is looking for a classical guitar a bit under full-size.

The CGS103A is a 3/4 scale classical guitar with construction similar to the C40. Its 1-7/8 inch nut width makes it easier for a smaller player to reach around the neck.

The CGS102A is a 1/2 scale classical with construction similar to the C40. It also has a 1-7/8 inch nut. A best seller, this and the FG Jr are ideal choices for children.

GL1 Guitalele

A ukulele-size guitar, how cool! The Guitalele is tuned in the same intervals as a guitar but higher in pitch, from A-to-A instead of from E-to-E. Its higher pitch makes it sound much like a ukulele but the standard guitar string intervals mean your familiar chord fingerings work just fine. At under $100, this is a sure winner and a fun gift!

Electric Guitars

Yamaha PAC-112J 'Pacifica'

If you're seeking a beginner/budget electric guitar, look no further than the quality Yamaha PAC-112J! Constructed of real tone woods including alder, maple, and rosewood, there's a big difference in the overall feel of this instrument compared to similarly priced competitor's models.

The neck and middle position single coil pickups will give bell-like crisp tone, while the bridge position humbucker is better suited for rock/metal, and fatter tones. One volume and one tone control keeps things simple and user friendly. Each Pacifica is setup for optimal playability by our in house technician so when you get it, it plays great.

Five colors to choose from, go for Black or Old Violin Sunburst for the classic look. Lake Placid Blue and Red Metallic will stand out a bit more, and the Natural shows off the beauty of the wood grain. We include a gig bag as well.

The specs:

  • Solidbody 'Strat-style' Pacifica body shape in gloss finish
