Instrument Rentals at The Minor Chord

A good musical instrument can be a major investment that a beginning student may not be ready or able to make. To help our customers get started learning their chosen instrument, The Minor Chord rents quality fretted instruments, practice amplifiers, and band instruments at affordable rates.

There are few sources for renting fretted string instruments such as guitars and banjos, and The Minor Chord is proud to fill this gap.

On the other hand, there are many band instrument rental plans - but some supply poorly-maintained instruments and charge excessive prices under their rent-to-own programs. We keep our quality band instruments in top playing condition and our prices are fair.

All our rentals are for a period of three months. The rental fee includes the basic rental, sales tax, and a damage waiver. The damage waiver covers normal maintenance, loss and theft as long the damage was not intentional or reckless. Normal supplies such as strings are not included in the damage waiver.

The Minor Chord has in-store maintenance and repair facilities should your rented instrument need attention. If more extensive repairs are needed, we can supply a loaner instrument at no charge.

Rent-to-Own Credit

When you rent an instrument from The Minor Chord you are building credit towards the eventual purchase of your own instrument. Your base rental fees (excluding taxes and damage waivers) accumulate a rent-to-own credit that you can use towards either the purchase of your rental instrument or the purchase of any other in-stock instrument in our store.

The rent-to-own credit stops accumulating when it reaches the value of your rental instrument, and you must claim your rent-to-own credit within seven days of completing your rental.
